In reply to some of the hurtful comments already made: about Hello & adoption?

In reply to some of the hurtful comments already made:

Why would a government department find a single woman a suspicious object? We were all born single, and affiliation with just any dead beat is not the answer to a weak belief that being married is "normal". Where does one meet someone worthy? Certainly it is to be solid, than to collect termites.

I have tried fostering. I had a child,(14 boy) for a while, and the system let us all down. He was put into my care because no one else would have him because he was off to jail for sexual assault. I lived in a remote area, and I have some physical disabilities that disadvantage me over rapists double my size, whilst I lived alone. I did all I could to help that boy, and still I was hurt. With courage, I still offered to foster other children when that episode was over...but alas, the laws prevent both adoptiona nd fostering from single women, except under exceptional circumstances.(like a relative or sheer desperation from the government department).

Legally, I can not undergo IVF. I am single and over fourty. 35 seems to be the prefered cut off by the specialists, and I do not have $230 000 to even try/,without even a guarrantee of success.

There are thousands of unwanted children born every year. Last week, on my local news, a child had been murdered by his parent. The week before, we heard of a court case where a father drove into a dam and drowned his 3 sons. Yesterday, 100 km away, a newborn was found dumped in a garage, placenta and all.

It seems that all the men have "done that" and want to enter the playboy phase of their life now. I would consider the offer of a custodial father without a wife, if he was a worthy man. So, you who know 5..... let them prove themself interested !

Can't someone who could care for the unwanted, be not condemned for wanting to do better with what we face in our community?

If an expected child is not wanted, or once born, can't be coped with, can't someone stop the cruelty out there, and try to do much better?

It's and unfortunate reality in our laws that loving willing persons are not allowed to help needy children. the prejudice that you encounter is unfortunately ingrained into our laws.

I'm sorry you aren't allowed to help raise our lost ones.

HI, before I begin my comment, I have a question, have you tried open-adoption?

I was presented with that option which I never heard of before. It sounds to be a less painful way of giving all your love to a child and hope would not be in vane. Report It

once a person has their mind made up its over

Your right. It's a travesty that children are denied good and loving homes because it isn't picture perfect.

HOWEVER. I am a firm believer that a child needs a father and mother. BUT these kids need to be given love {hierarchy of needs} first. So, if you got the love, I think you should be able to adopt. BY the way, it really sux because you could BUY a child if you had the money and VIP status. Look at the celebrities who have the most horrible lifestyles. NO one in Hollywood should be given a kid. Thats cruel.

Maybe you can't take into care unwanted/abandoned/abused children because of the reasons you stated, but I will bet somewhere in your state, or perhaps moving to a state where the amount of children is huge, you can donate your time to be a mentor. Big brothers/Big sisters, I will bet there are organizations that would welcome someone with a clean background check, to donate their time.
